Doctor of Engineering (Dr.-Ing.) Jörg Asmus
graduated from the Technical University of Dresden, Department of Civil Engineering, Dresden, Germany, 1985.  Dr. Asmus served as a research associate and Laboratory Director of Building Materials at the Institute
of Reinforced Concrete in Dresden from 1985-1990.
He continued as research associate at the University of Stuttgart, Institute of Construction Materials, Stuttgart, Germany. In 1998 he joined after completing his doctoral studies with Prof. Eligehausen the IEA Engineering Firm. Dr. Asmus became a managing partner of the IEA in 2004 and was appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the IEA.
 He is an "Öffentlich Bestellter und Vereidigter Sachverständiger für Verankerungstechnik in Bauwerken" (accredited Assessor for Anchorage Technology in Construction by IHK, Stuttgart (Industry and Trade Commission)), and owner of the SIVV-Licence (protection, repairing, reinforcement, and joining reinforced concrete structures). In July 2008 he was appointed as an Assessor of the Deutsche Institut für Bautechnik (DIBt) in the expert advisory board "Fastenings".
He is member of the ACI and contributes his services to the task groups  ACI 355 "Anchorage to Concrete" and ACI 349 "Code Requirements for Nuclear Safety-Related Concrete Structures and Commentary". He also belongs to the task group
"Fastening to concrete and masonry structures" of the fiB.
Dr. Asmus authored numerous publications regarding fastening technology, reinforced concrete, concrete technology. He provides seminars on various training courses and continuing education.
